The world Junior track and field is over. Afer all the years of planning and building of the $20 million stadium the compeition is over. I think that this stadium will be great for Moncton and Atlantic canada. It will help to develop great athletes. They just need good coaching to pass on their knowledge. They will share this stadium with CFL and possible concerts in the future. I think that it could be used as a multi purose stadium to be able to have a home team CFL team.
We saw competitors from all over the world put in their best effort in their events. Many athletes had personal bests. Kenya and Ethopia are very domaniant countries in long distance events. I think that other counrties such as Canada and USA need to find way to simulate the training these runners go through. These runners, run at very high elevations and then when they go to most competitions they are at sea level or lower. This gives them excellent endurance. This is like a swimmer using a thicker liquid to train in and when it comes to the competition they just glide through the ride. I was hoping that Canada would perform like they did in the Winter olympics and be one of high countries in the medal count. The fans were there in force to cheer on their team Canada. Canada has a lot of up and coming track stars. This is very evident from this track competition. I can't wait to see what we will bring to the table in Barcelona Spain in 2012 and the Olympics in London in the same year.
The closing ceremonies were pretty entertaining. I really enjoyed the hip hop dancers. They were very exciting group with many great moves. It was also quite exciting when they invited all the athletes to come out into the field. They all showed gerat sportsmaship and everyone seemed to be saying farewell to those they met during the compeition.Everything was planned out great and rain didn't even slow any of the events in the competition.
