The Ponderosa Steakhouse Restaurant in Moncton is closing its doors after serving customers from the same location for the last 35 years

The restaurant's director of operations said the landmark steakhouse will serve its last customers when his remaining staff members have found new jobs. He said the closing could happen any day. It is located on Mountain Rd and there is for lease sign there now.
Staff members have been given notice so they can find a new job. Will be closing in the next 2 weeks.
The primary reason he's closing up shop after more than two decades is business has dropped significantly in recent years.
There's a lot of competition and simply not enough people for the restaurant seats out there, especially in the Moncton area,
The decision to close the Moncton restaurant follows on the heels of the closure of Bedford Ponderosa Steakhouse and St. John, N.L. Ponderosa in past 2 years.
Some of the regular customers will be very disappointed, and we'll definitely miss it.
I really enjoyed their large dessert section. With cakes, cookies and ice cream.
I drove by there last night around 7pm. There were no cars in the parking but all the lights were on inside.
