Moncton will be a very busy city during July 19-25, 2010. There will be people visiting from 20 or 30 countries. We will be hosting a large track and field competition. It will show off the talent of junior athletes for many different nations.
There will also be a large festival heald on Main St. A large section of the street will be closed off for this. It will host music and food from many different countries. It will be a great place to showcase traditions of many different countries.
Main Street will be closed from Mechanic Street to Sommet Lane from 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 22 to 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 for the festival.
Activities kick off Thursday at 5 p.m. with the opening of the World Village on Botsford Street between Queen and Main Streets, offering visitors the opportunity to buy food and crafts from all over the world. I can't wait to attend. Should be exciting.
If it rains, the event will be moved to Riverview town hall.
